That is an interesting theory. Even though ever since the effective end of
the GOP primaries Obama pretty much held the lead (albeit a very slight
one), the GOP held the edge on enthusiasm. Flipping that around would have
given Obama a more significant edge over Romney. Now according to the
latest report, MSNBC won the week in cable news during the DNC -- beating
Fox. Which could mean (again) that MSNBC has successfully leaned forward
into the liberal counter to Fox in the minds of the partisans.
