Speaking as someone who was in DC on the day, I'm pretty much in Joe's corner. I would only add that the coverage strikes me as too focused on New York to truly warrant the national teeth-gnashing and garment-rending vibes I get from the annual noting of the 11th. Sure, part of that comes from my general feelings about NYC and Mayor Giuliani, but at least two other parts of the country were crash sites that day.
