NBC has the best election music and a quality bench of players, although
some of them, like Norah O'Donnell, have migrated over to CBS. Brian
Williams keeps it down the middle. CBS may be to elections today what ABC
was a decade or two ago, with more gravitas in their reporters and on their
panel. Hopefully CNN will not do anything gimmicky like their "hologram"
last year... Worst election night stunt ever.

People also forget about Fox Broadcast. They do not simulcast FNC. I've
never watched them, but it is an option.

I know many here are not huge political fans, but I am interested if there
is a consensus as to the best TV coverage for election night. The truth is
I have not been watching a lot of network/CNN news coverage over the last
year. I am going to take Fox News and MSNBC off the table (and I will
record the Stewart/Colbert coverage). My practice has always been to surf
around a lot, and I do check in on PBS, but while they are strong on
analysis, they are not usually the best on breaking news. I like to have
one primary source - for me that used to be CNN and or NBC, but I have
almost zero faith in CNN any more, and am not sure where NBC is compared to
the other two. I am leaning towards CBS, as I have been relatively
impressed with their new regime.

Which of the four main options (CBS, NBC, ABC, CNN) would people here
recommend?
