The man who ran NBC into the toilet, who currently is producing Katie Couric's not-doing-as-well-as-it-should-be syndicated talk show, is supposedly thisclose to replacing Jim Walton as the man in charge at the news channel, according to the LA Times' Joe Flint:
http://www.latimes.com/entertainment/envelope/cotown/la-et-ct-jeff-zucker-cnn-20121127,0,3937840.story The other prime candidate is Mark Shapiro, who ran ESPN into the credibility toilet (if not profits) and is currently CEO of dick clark productions--his lack of hard news experience may be a factor. Of course, if Zucker is the man, he will be hated by both the far right for being a former NBC employee now at the channel that has been the long time target of hatred by the right, and the far left, who are convinced that CNN has become Fox Lite and will probably think that he'll keep things status quo. -- TV or Not TV ....
