My theory: for the NFL RedZone, they had one singular model to follow, in the
form of DirecTV's Red Zone Channel, which had existed for a few years before
the NFL got into the act with their version. For their NFL coverage and
pregame show, they had to synthesize from a number of other efforts.

I'm a fan of the DirecTV version with host Andrew Siciliano, which I think is
similarly worthy of praise to what PGage said of the NFL Network version. I do
prefer to watch games featuring "my" team, but as with yesterday when they're
scheduled for a game in the second Sunday time slot, I really enjoy watching
the Red Zone Channel during the early games when there's a lot going on.
