So did NBC, but I was wondering if that was just the pressure to get back to the game, or if everyone did that. Beautiful speech I thought, with the right combination of notes, including a signal that it will not be business as usual with the gun lobby after this. His reading of the children's names was heart-breaking, though the truth is I have found myself weeping at my computer off and on since Friday. Unavoidably awkward transition back to the football game on NBC, but I think they handled it right. We don't need Al Michaels to make any comments about the tragedy right in the middle of the game, and nothing he says is going to make it an easy transition. Those of us who chose to watch the speech on NBC and then stay to go back to the game knew what we were doing, and could manage it on our own. They were straightforward and matter of fact, caught us up on what had happened while we were away, and moved on. For the record, for those who did not want to watch the speech the game was shunted over to the NBC Sports channel while POTUS was speaking. -- TV or Not TV .... The Smartest (TV) People!
