Everyone watching CBS should be on the same schedule. They only had two late games today Dallas-Pittsburgh and Kansas City-Oakland. When KC/Oak finished, they went to Dallas/Pitt which went overtime and ended, I think, around 7:50 Eastern. 60 Minutes would have then started after a break. ----- Original Message ----- From: Ben Scripps To: [email protected] Sent: Sunday, December 16, 2012 8:35 PM Subject: Re: [TV orNotTV] Newtown memorial live on local FOX affiliate

Their schedule is really funky tonight, if the on-screen "Eye-lerts" are to be believed. I'm still not sure what CBS's schedule is supposed to be tonight. By my clock, the game ended at 7:57 ET. There was an on-screen "Eye-lert" saying that Survivor would start at 8:38 ET. "60" went to break at 34 or 35 past and, after a lengthy commercial break punctuated by the usual roundup of NFL scores, the special report for POTUS started at 38 past with Scott Pelley saying that "Survivor" would resume where it left off, even though it hadn't started yet. I saw the intro to 60 Minutes. They said it was a special short edition with only 2 stories: one on Newtown and one on raising the Costa Concordia. CBS has the ability to run many separate net feeds out of New York--I'm not positive of the number, but during training on a new switcher many years ago, I believe our trainer (who'd trained directors at CBS) had it at 27 individual network feeds that could be generated). So for an early regional game that ended earlier than the Pittsburgh/Dallas game, they almost certainly would have dumped out of NFL coverage ASAP to get to the "Survivor" finale as close to on-time as possible (which meant some viewers were already seeing "Survivor" when Pelley cut in, while others were still in "60 Minutes"). Which means if you're watching "Survivor" in the east, you may want to start avoiding social media around 10:30 or so... -- -- Ben Scripps [email protected] -- TV or Not TV ....
