There were two errors in the Dave tribute. The first was a minor one:
Tina Fey said she'd been on Dave 15 times. It was 16 times, counting 2
cameos. That one's forgivable. The second, though wasn't: Kimmel did
say February 1983 when even he should have known it was the year
before.

I was kinda hoping he'd mention the show he attended while underage at
the time:  Some years ago, Steve O'Donnell, then Kimmel's head writer,
asked me to find and send him a copy of that very show to give to
Jimmy for his birthday. He didn't have a date, but Jimmy had told him
that Leno was one of the guests, and that Dave was wearing a light-
blue jacket. That was enough to go on, and so I found the show  (from
August 16, 1984, taped August 2) and sent it to Steve. A few years
later, Kimmel guested on Dave, and I got a chance to talk to him about
it outside the stage door.
