That explains it. The poor picture quality on The Red Skelton Show didn't 
bother me - I expect 1950s variety shows to look grainy, having seen my 
share of Jackie Gleason episodes. But I really noticed bad quality on Ozzie 
and Harriet, Beverly Hillbillies, and a 1940s Jimmy Durante movie.
