"New Girl" and "The Mindy Project" have been hurt by the three-way one-camera sitcom battle at 9 p.m. on Tuesday nights (not to mention "NCIS LA"), so Fox is giving them a one-shot move to Thursday starting at 9 p.m. after "Idol" (replacing a "Glee" rerun for the week) on Apr. 4 against NBC's one-camera shows:
http://www.thewrap.com/tv/article/new-girl-mindy-project-get-temporary-post-idol-slots-78446 For the record, their Tuesday time slot will be taken over by Gordon Ramsay and a new cycle of "Hell's Kitchen" on Mar. 12. Meanwhile, I'm trying to think if there has been any Fox series that has benefited from an "Idol" lead-in on Thursday (or Wednesday, when the show was on Tuesday and Wednesday). I know that post-"Idol" was one of the many slots that "Arrested Development" failed to hold on to the lead-in. Granted, "New Girl" and Mindy are more mainstream, but it seems to me that the "Idol" audience changes the channel when Seacrest signs off. -- -- TV or Not TV .... The Smartest (TV) People!
