Mandel's latest show, based on a UK series, was doomed from the start
because, to succeed, you have to exhibit the very worst aspects of
humanity.
The other, big problem (I have), is that lots of these game shows aren't
about "How Much Can I Win?" but "How Much Can I Keep From Losing?"
(Million Pound/Dollar Money Drap, Cash Pump (Israeli(?) format) and one
from FOX called 'Dont Drop the Cash (or somesuch))
It isn't fun to see these schlubs START with (say) cash and piss it all
away over the course of 15-30 minutes.
