Well, I think a more descriptive Subject Header would have been "Shales
weighs in on Tom Shales stuff", which is fine. He is writing on a web site
and not using up paper or taking people's money, so he can write whatever
he wants.

I do wonder what Fallon did to get on his bad side - I suspect it is the
crime of being under 60. I am no big Fallon-booster, but I have not seen
any evidence to support the allegation that he is a conniving ambitious
careerist who is angling for Leno's chair. To the contrary, he seems to be
a pretty eager puppy dog who is happy to work hard and get whatever scraps
NBC wants to dish out to him - which is my theory as to why NBC wants to
promote him so quickly - he will work for cheap.
