Someone emailed me offline (not Joe) and asked me to clarify something in my last post in this thread. I have debated for a while whether I should do the same here online. At first I was disinclined to, since I don't think I wrote anything to suggest what was being read into my post, but on reflection I am willing to err on the side of clarity.
I wrote that the Masters has a long tradition of racism, sexism and elitism, a tradition it has been slow to divest itself of, and still has not completely done. I still believe that to be true. But I did not mean to imply, nor do I believe, that this means that anyone who likes the Masters, or is critical of Tiger Woods, is racist, sexist or elitist. Some of my best friends (and family members) love the Masters. -- -- TV or Not TV .... The Smartest (TV) People!
