I figured Conan's edition of Late Night should have been part of the article, given Conan's SNL background and Lorne's involvement in producing Late Night.
FWIW, I don't think Lorne should be the power behind more than one program in that format for the same reasons you do. The need for more than one voice in certain parts of culture is why I don't think J.J. Abrams should be dealing in both Star Trek and Star Wars. I'm sure there are other examples.
