If the discord rumors are true, they remind me of what supposedly happened with Christopher Eccleston/the Ninth Doctor, though that may or may not have involved Moffat's predecessor, Russell Davies.
Is it possible that Moffat is overextended? Even though Sherlock is short, even for a British series, and doesn't shoot at the same time, it can't be easy to manage along with Who.
