This is what put me off all the major news networks, newspapers, and newsmagazines. A landslide is boring, so they juiced the results. Not to sound too conspiratorial, but I'm not unconvinced they didn't simply make up polling data, especially website/internet polls that couldn't be verified. So much money traded hands during the last campaign that elections themselves became a business like oil or corn or computers. Elections are an industry with corporations directly involved, and some of those corporations have media holdings. I'm not saying the results were fixed; merely that the outcome was known more than a year in advance, so those in the business could do more-or-less whatever they wanted to try to increase revenue. As evidence of that claim, even though several pundits were seemingly discredited during the final days of the election, looking at the economic standings of their respective "think" tanks, the hit they suffered was one of PR, not finances. Karl Rove still has money to burn, as do the other weasels who tried to make the election into something it never was.
