I detest Jay the "comedian" and "talk show host". But Jay the Car Guy is someone I could have a beer with. Unlike anything he does on "Tonight", you can see he has a genuine passion for all things car-related - probably more passion then we've seen from Jay since his days subbing for Carson. In many ways, I wish he had handed "Tonight" off to Conan as scheduled and worked with NBC to develop a Top Gear/Fifth Gear style show, either for NBC or Vs./NBCSN.
