If Late Night practice transfers over to the Tonight Show, you should expect to see the band more integrated into the comedy pieces. This goes far beyond "Slow-Jam the News" since members of The Roots have formed various faux groups, Black Simon and Garfunkel possibly the best of them.

Re the bands: I prefer Rickey Minor's band (and his more melodic theme) to Eubanks'; Eubanks played the same damn songs over and over, while Minor and company put some life into their arrangements and sound like they're working harder.
