If Late Night practice transfers over to the Tonight Show, you should expect to 
see the band more integrated into the comedy pieces.  This goes far beyond 
"Slow-Jam the News" since members of The Roots have formed various faux groups, 
Black Simon and Garfunkel possibly the best of them.

It's of a kind with Fallon's habit of playing pop songs as other artists.  But 
I think that kind of thing is younger Jimmy's strength, and would be happy to 
see him continue it at 11:30.

Re the bands: I prefer Rickey Minor's band (and his more melodic theme) to 
Eubanks'; Eubanks played the same damn songs over and over, while Minor and 
company put some life into their arrangements and sound like they're working 
harder. Although I agree that the Roots will be a big improvement.
