I have not watched The Crazy Ones yet - on the strength of your cautious
recommendation I will probably check it out.  I did watch both episodes of
MJF. I think I would, using your formulation, have to say that it wasn't
good--it wasn't horrible, but surprisingly (maybe) I don't think I laughed
once during either episode.

I love The Office, and Parks, and Modern Family, but I think the talking to
the camera spiel is getting played out by now. And Modern Family is single
handed responsible for more bad television clones than Seinfeld was back in
the day. In MJF apparently Parksinson's = homosexuality, and I gather that
most of the show will not focus on his Parkinson's, but use it for
background comedy on occasion. I like MJF's work on The Good Wife, but this
show is going to have to really dig deep to find some justification for its
existence (maybe it will make fun of local news and NBC, along the lines of
the Daily Show and 30 Rock? That might help - though it did more
ass-kissing with Matt Lauer than real teasing, so that was not promising).
