I would not expect them to shoot her like Ms Cruz, nor do I hit the level of outrage found in the piece, but speaking as someone who has always been a fan of zaftig women, I think the choice of wrapping her in a fur coat to hide her curves and a hairstyle that covered a majority of her face gave more of an appearance of hiding than showing.
