I assume the schedule is to tape six shows in a day. That means in a week they tape six weeks worth of shows. He gets a nice chunk of change for that, plus the continuous exposure means he's guaranteed decent stand up gigs at casinos and medium-sized clubs. Look at how many comedians would kill to be able to play the places Drew Carey plays. I'd say life is pretty sweet for him right now.
