Partially because of the initial problems he had and just plain old "What 
am I doing hosting a game show?"  I guess the paychecks relieve that 
problem--and besides, the people who'll look you in the face and claim that 
they've always wanted to do a game show are usually the ones that are 
really bad at doing it (and admittedly, I haven't watched in a while, so I 
don't know how better he's gotten at it).
