Yes, right down the the copycat ESPN logo. When "Ron Burgundy" called
curling, they put a gold-ball logo on his jacket. Classy, imho.
If so, I assume that they have
access to "The Hockey Theme," which TSN snapped up when the CBC decided
to get a new theme song for "Hockey Night in Canada" some years ago.
There's some question over what really happened to The Hockey Theme.
One report said CBC wouldn't re-up. Another said the owners of THT asked
CBC for some insane amount of money, which they couldn't justify, but
TSN (BellGlobeMedia) was happy to pay. (Suggesting it was actually BGM
who orchestrated the backroom dealings.)
I'd be surprised if Rogers doesn't make an offer for the rights (or at
least rebroadcast rights) to THT.
