If you mean "he reluctantly acquiesced to the deal NBC and Zucker forced on him," than yes, he had something to do with it. At worst, he made up a cover story to keep Burke from looking like a villain (much like his 2004 cover story to keep Conan from looking like a villain for forcing him out), then forgot to stick to the story. I honestly don't see the question of who suggested moving up the date as a big deal. Until I found out that Conan had lied and claimed that Jay forced him out so that Conan could paint himself as a victim. Haven't been as much of a Conan fan since then. Jay's insistence that he's not a victim - that people who make millions of dollars should not be pitied - is an admirable one that helps me to root for him. I'm not as big a fan of his show as I used to be - the show has been tired for years, and Fallon's my favorite now - but I still find a lot to like and trust in Jay. -- -- TV or Not TV ....
