If you are 40 then in my mind you are maybe just a little older than Kevin, who I was assuming got hooked on Carol Brady in after school syndication. Do you think there were no Brady Bunch reruns when you were a 10 year old kid, or that they had them, but you just didn't watch them? Lots of kids grow up in families that emphasize playing out doors in the fresh air, engaging in imaginative and creative play indoors, reading, and singing songs and conversation. Perhaps you were one of the unfortunate ones to have grown up in such a healthy and normal family. Another thought - I don't remember the same systematic marketing assault by toy companies using cheap cartoons when I was in elementary school, and at least for whatever reasons I did not watch much of them, and instead would watch syndicated sitcoms and selected dramas. If you were in middle school in the 1980s (that is where I am guess you fit) you may have been a prime target for shows like Transformers and the Turtles. If you were captured by them, that might have taken you away from the syndicated rerun market. -- -- TV or Not TV .... The Smartest (TV) People!
