Loose association: The Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, published by the American psychiatric Association, had gone by roman numerals for its first for additions. The much maligned fifth edition which was published last May was the first to use Arabic numerals. The stated reason was so the APA could publish online intermediate updates (eg "5.1, 5.2"). So from now on it is DSM-5, not DSM V.
