1. Roger D. left some years ago after some run-ins with his bosses at Fremantle and I believe Drew. I believe that's Adam Sandler (not that Adam Sandler) directing now--they've had at least two other directors since Bart Eskander was fired (also after Drew's arrival and after Mike Richards was brought in as showrunner).
2. "Wheel" seems to me to be live-to-tape, especially since they haven't had to stop tape to switch puzzles since the electronic board came in 15 years ago. Some of Jim Thornton's plugs may be added in post (and the credits on both "Jeopardy!" and "Wheel" are added in post, not to mention the Advil logos put on the losers' podia underneath their consolation prize amounts on "Jeopardy!"--"TPIR" still runs the credits live-to-tape, even if only Canadian and online viewers see them past the plug list and the Fremantle logo graphic--the animated logo with that guitar and bongo music does appear at the end).
