This would be a really hard choice for me, because I enjoy both. Before LWT
began, I would no doubt have agreed with Kevin. But I think the show
started strong and has only gotten stronger, to the point where if one of
these has to go, I might be less sad if it were The Bugle.

At first it was not clear how LWT was going to be different than TDS, but
now it is pretty clear. Not only is LWT much more international, but it is
also clear that LWT, unlike TDS or Colbert, is not a parody show at all.
Oliver is not pretending to be a news anchor doing a bad job. He is in his
own persona, just making fun of the way the media reports (or does not
report) a range of important stories. I am not crazy about all of the taped
bits they do to break-up Oliver talking to the audience - I see the need to
do something, but I would rather see him maybe get a guest correspondent
from a different country each week to do 5 minutes on their POV of an
important story (maybe Saltzman could be a semi-regular in that kind of
capacity?).
