Another approach would be to do something, anything about CBS's own 12:30 show. Six months may be too long for CBS to wait if they want to draw people away from Seth. Or maybe the Late Late Show is still too cheap for CBS to care too much.
While I don't think it counters the main conclusion of the ratings numbers (Fallon has numbers and coattails), I think it's a little off to be using data that's heavy with repeats. While I don't expect it to happen, it would seem that Fallon's runaway could provide coverage for really blowing up the format at CBS, at least at 12:30. NBC continues to be top dog in late-night ratings, with even Seth Meyers getting better numbers than Dave, which is a weird thing to happen to a guy who should be on his victory lap by now: http://www.thewrap.com/late-night-tv-ratings-fallon-letterman-kimmel-meyers-nightline/?utm_source=newsletter&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=contactology One wonders if CBS is going to start a "Letterman: The Final Days" campaign to get people to turn to "Late Show" to see Dave's last shows. -- -- -- TV or Not TV ....
