They may time it with March Madness, but if CBS auditions replacements for 
Craig on air (like they did to replace previous Craig), they may not have 
someone until then.


If CBS opts to keep 12:30 on the cheap, I think on-air auditions a reasonable 
possibility.  And unlike 10 years ago, it will be much easier to generate lots 
of digital ink on the process.

Sorry for confusing things. You're right, no official end date has been 
announced, just "in 2015." "Nine months" had the right comic rhythm in my ear. 
It's probably longer than that; I'll open the bidding with "the end of May 
sweeps." (Longer, because with TV's Craig Ferguson's replacement starting in 
January, I expect Dave will not even start his final lap until after that.)
