I think she is a bit better in that there is less reliance on fetching hair
flips, and she seems more comfortable. In her interviews with players she
seemed to know relevant facts that came up apparently spontaneously.

I don't think she handled the emergency interview with Adam Wainwright very
well - or maybe better, she handled it just the way Fox Sports wanted it
handled. Wainwright had told reporters after leaving the game but while it
was still going on that, in reference to the pitches he threw to Jeter "I
was gonna give him a couple pipe shots. He deserved it" - seemingly
implying that he had given Jeter easy pitches so he could get hits and look
good in his last All Star game. Fox reported this, then rushed to Andrews
"interviewing" him, which played more like Andrews giving him a chance to
rehabilitate himself, and walk back a comment that threatened to overshadow
and undermine Fox's main storyline of the broadcast. Wainright basically
said he was joking, but Andrews did not press him about it at all, and
instead commiserated with him about the evils of "social media" (which of
course she has been a vicim of herself).

It was not clear to me how credible Wainright's version was; apparently
there was no video of him making the original comment to use to judge his
intent there, and Andrews did not see fit to interview any of the reporters
who had been there for their assessment. Wainright threw 2 pitches to
Jeter, one bouncing on the plate, the other in Jeter's sweet spot.

In any case, Andrews came off looking like a shill, which I guess only
means that she wound up looking like just about everyone else who works for
Fox Sports.
