I strongly disagree with the idea that she's been the "victim" of social
media. Factor out the peeping incident (I'll get back to it in a sec),
Andrews became popular because of social media that she and ESPN had no
problem with. She engages on Twitter regularly now (beyond what I'd expect
is the minimum Fox wants its talent to engage).

As for the peeping incident, let's remember how that Friday played out. A
blogger got a tip about a YouTube video that identified a female ESPN
talent that appeared nude. That blogger went to ESPN for a response, but
got none. He ran the video. It was picked up by Deadspin, who also ran it
noting that ESPN seemed to have no response to it. It was then that someone
in The Most God Forsaken Place On The East Coast appeared to actually look
at the video, realized it was Andrews, and summoned the lawyers.
Immediately, both sites pulled the video and said if anyone tried to link
to it, they'd be banned. If you're looking for someone to blame (on top of
the criminal himself), I'm looking at the folks at ESPN who, being told
there was a video of one of their talent naked, seemed quite disinterested
in investigating this report until Deadspin reported it and seemingly
everyone and their father said "If that's not Erin Andrews, it's no one
from ESPN."
