Two words: In. Credible.
I saw the first episode today (aired this past Friday). If you subscribe to Skinemax, do not miss this show. Imagine "House" set in 1900 New York City, but with a megalomaniacal doctor hooked on cocaine, who meets his new Assistant Chief Surgeon, a world-class surgeon just arrived from four years of residency at the two finest hospitals in Europe, and refuses to allow him to participate in surgeries because of that one small detail nobody happened to mention: you know.that he's, uh."a negro." Morality plays and social injustice hijinks quickly ensue. Vivid, gag reflex-inducing surgeries that only serve to remind you that shows like "House" and "ER" have made us forget how barbaric medical procedures were not that very long ago. I'm seriously considering getting a subscription to Cinemax, just so I can watch this show in its original time slot. There's not a single other thing on that network that I'll ever watch, but "The Knick" is probably worth the extra $10/month. Doug Fields Tampa, FL -- -- TV or Not TV .... The Smartest (TV) People!
