I'll vouch for the surgical scene(s). I'm presuming there were multiple, because I just couldn't finish the first one (if it wasn't a c-section, it was whatever was done before).
My cable provider has a free preview of Cinemax through tonight. I'd wager that The Knick is probably on at least one of the Cinemax channels sometime tonight. Vivid, gag reflex-inducing surgeries that only serve to remind you that shows like “House” and “ER” have made us forget how barbaric medical procedures were not that very long ago. I’m seriously considering getting a subscription to Cinemax, just so I can watch this show in its original time slot.
