On a more serious note--if the bid for independence succeeds, can I assume that the BBC will be chased out of Scotland? I would assume that whatever the new public broadcasting entity for Scotland would take over the Beeb's Radio Scotland, the Scottish language Alba and the studio facilities and that the transmitters for the TV networks and national radio stations would be taken over. But would Scottish be allowed to continue to be an ITV affiliate and would the new entities have to pay a pretty penny to allow the good citizens of Scotland to be able to see "EastEnders," "Downton Abbey," "Doctor Who," "Strictly Come Dancing," "X Factor" and all of their favorite British shows? (The thought comes to mind: Could Scotland sustain their own versions of the reality franchises?) I could also assume that Channels 4 and 5's transmitters would be shut down, but I would also assume that BSkyB would continue to do business in Scotland and offer all of the British channels on their satellite service. But that's all assuming that the independence bid passes on Thursday.
