I saw some of the CNBC special mentioned in the article. I thought it was a bit more subdued than other Jay's Garage video I've seen. And I think Jay's Garage is mild-mannered compared to Jay's Tonight Show.
The special seemed focused on the higher-incomes you might expect on the CNBC. Sure, both the US and UK Top Gear programs have plenty of higher-end automobile exotica, but The Ultimate Car Week pushed it further. I think it would work, and pull in decent numbers...for CNBC. If it's going to draw new eyeballs, it should be more dynamic than what I saw in the special. And it wouldn't kill Jay to get behind the wheel of the newest hot hatch or similar passenger car (it was good enough for his 10pm show...)
