More like "it won't be the Daily Show AS WE CURRENTLY KNOW IT" without Jon Stewart. Things will change just like they changed (for the better, IMO) when Stewart took over for Kilborn. I'm sure CC would have been content for things to remain the same with the Kilborn/Stewart transition but Stewart gave the show a more politcal edge and less of a "frat boy mentality". It also gained a higher profile.
Just like the Tonight Show isn't the same today as it was with Carson. And one shouldn't expect it to be. Why would anybody want to see somebody doing another person's show. It's my hope that "It won't be TDS without Jon Stewart" will sound as ridiculous in hindsight as "It won't be The Tonight Show without Johnny Carson" or "It won't be Jeopardy without Art Fleming."
