I wonder if it also might be a case of "out of sight, out of mind," since he'd been doing the announcing from his home in Arizona for the past few seasons. Incidentally, Darrell Hammond seems to also not be announcing the show "live from New York" -- he's currently doing his one-man show "The Darrell Hammond Project" in La Jolla, California, with 8:00 P.M.
