I'm posting this here since a lot of us follow science news and part of
this article notes how media reports about the Mars One program, the one
that proposes to send crews one way to Mars, repeat the claims of Mars One
press releases without checking if they are accurate or if the program is a
real program.

An Australian journalist named Elmo Keep has written two for Matter
Magazine. He has talked on the record with senior staff of Mars One, NASA
astronauts who are aware of the program, and recruits to the program. His
conclusion is that Mars One will never get the money to send a crew and
they are expecting to buy off-the-shelf technology to make the trip.

This article, called "Mars One Finalist Explains Exactly How It‘s Ripping
Off Supporters," is short but is based on an earlier long article.

The earlier long article is called "All Dressed Up for Mars and Nowhere to
Go."
