I found the band to be distracting, not because they were bad, but because
they reminded me of the zydeco band that used to do the music on The Late
Mr Pete Show.

I didn't watch the Jeb Bush interview because I can't listen to any
politician named Bush anymore. I know having politicians on late night TV
is the new normal, but I have no interest in seeing the two-faced creeps;
if I did, I'd watch FoxNews.

I found the Biff Henderson reference funny, but upon reflection I doubt the
former Late Show staff would laugh at that joke. As I learned earlier this
week, out of 150 staffers from the Dave era Late Show, the Colbert era Late
Show retained literally a handful, two from the music dept only because the
old Colbert Report didn't really have a music department to speak of.
That's a lot of people looking for work, and I suspect Biff might be one of
them.

I like the set, but when they cut to audience reaction shots it felt
strange because it still looked like Dave's audience.

Colbert is currently the only late night host I have any interest in
watching, but I suspect I won't watch him regularly. It'll be interesting
to see his series evolve in the coming months.
