I never heard of Rehm until earlier this year - my local NPR station,
WHYY-FM Philadelphia, runs a live local talk show, "Radio Times" with the
excellent Marty Moss-Coane, in that timeslot. But then I saw that one of my
favorite authors, Anne Tyler, was making a rare appearance on The Diane
Rehm Show, so I downloaded the podcast of that episode. I listened to it
and, I think, one other episode - but frankly, although I found Ms. Rehm
intelligent and I liked her style of questions, her voice bothered me so
much that I deleted the series from my iTunes feed. (I didn't find out she
was suffering from a serious ailment until a few months later.)
