In the late eighties, when Garry Shandling and Jay Leno were alternating as
regular guest hosts for Johnny Carson, Garry did an interview with Gail
Shister of the Philadelphia Inquirer. Gail asked him if he would like to
have his own late night talk show. Garry - years before he satirized talk
shows on "The Larry Sanders Show" - had the best answer I've ever read on
the subject:

"The only thing crazier than being on TV every night is WANTING to be on TV
every night."

R.I.P., funnyman.
