The television consequences won't immediately be seen, considering that most of DW's work is in features and NBCU doesn't have children's venues outside of pre-school Sprout and the NBC Kids block on Saturday morning (DW's TV work is for Nickelodeon and Netflix), but the DreamWorks Classics arm includes the Rankin-Bass holiday specials which have been airing on CBS, ABC and Freeform (when it was ABCFAM) in recent years and could be moving to NBCU properties in the future (NBCU's digital subchannel COZI also airs DW Classics-owned "Lassie" and "The Lone Ranger')--in addition, DW owns a majority interest in the teen/tween YouTube channel Awesomeness TV, which produces a series by that title for Nick:
http://www.thewrap.com/comcast-nbcuniversal-dreamworks-animation/ NBCU is replacing Jeffrey Katzenberg with the head of the studio they already own, Illumination Entertainment ("Despicable Me," "Minions"), Chris Meledandri. Since Meledandri has a reputation for being tight-fisted, this could be a challenge to the DW team, who I assume hasn't been pressured much by Katzenberg beyond keeping their output commercial. -- -- TV or Not TV ....
