The Wrap's doing the list-of-why-Colbert-is-bombing schtick, with only two
creative (he isn't funny, Chris Licht isn't doing enough, although I agree
with someone else that he and/or CBS seems to be trying to make Colbert
Leno circa 1996 when Fallon is unbeatable as today's version of Leno) and
the other three ratings (CBS doesn't have the Olympics or the NBA finals,
summer numbers are always lower), but really--is it now time to put Colbert
on the chopping block?:

I've seen a suggestion that Corden and Colbert switch time slots, which
would supposedly let Colbert interview politicians and authors at 12:35
while Corden does the mass appeal bit at 11:35. The problem I see there is
that even if Meyers is doing the 9-minute "Closer Look" bits, his guestlist
is still plugging celebs. The question may be when Meyers does "Closer
Look"--before or after 1 a.m. (Like most people, I've only seen "Closer
Look" online.) If people are going to bed at 1 a.m. when the first celeb
appears like most other late-night shows, Colbert may have a chance at
12:35. If "Closer Look" is later in the show, all bets are off.

And I wonder what The Wrap thinks Licht should have Colbert doing.
Interviewing "Big Brother" castoffs? Hell, no.
