The question may be when Meyers does "Closer > Look"--before or after 1 a.m. (Like most people, I've only seen "Closer > Look" online.) Hell, no. > When Bill Carter wrote about late night for the Times his pieces were a mix of solid quotes from network executives and a lot of crap that came from his imagination. Nobody today, including Carter himself, has access to those sources so all we're left with is the crap. Nobody sees the revenue generated by the Late Show nor its expenses so how do we know if CBS executives are concerned? We do know that Colbert's Late Show costs them much less than Letterman's. In Carter's book about the Conan era of late night, he noted that NBC executives found that Conan did not have a clause that set the start time of the show at 11:35 and used that to float the idea of a 12:05 start time. One of Carter's sources said that he was surprised that he did not have that clause as it was something hosts usually insisted on. What do you want to bet that Colbert has that in his contract which would keep him from going to 12:35? -- -- TV or Not TV .... The Smartest (TV) People!
