PGage, to moi:
>
> This space cleared up for me a couple of weeks ago that Lauer and Guthrie
> are still the hosts of Today, but, she was not in Rio because she is
> pregnant and had Zikka worries. But it looks like Morales is no longer
> reading the news (I have seen her called the "West Coast Anchor" for Today
> (whatever that might mean), but my FB feed kept screaming over the weekend
> that she bought a $6M dollar home in LA with apparently some TV tabloid
> money). Does Bob's note here mean that Billy Bush is now the News Anchor
> for the Today Show? That seems too sad to be true, even by the ever
> lowering standards of the Today Show. Did he get the job off of the
> strength of his hard nosed journalism on the Ryan Lochte interview on the
> beach?
>
>
> I couldn't watch to confirm, for reasons I have discussed mainly in the
threads about my dad. Hopefully Tuesday will bring answers.

M-D November, to Tom Wolper and Kevin M:
>
> The 9am hour of Today is background noise for the start of my workday, so
> I happened to have it on this morning.
>
> Official 9-10am anchors are Hall, Bush & Roker. Even though physically
> the obvious swap appears to be Bush for Morales, Bush is really sitting in
> what was Willie Geist's seat, so I think this is partially a move to free
> Geist to concentrate on Sunday morning, and part an attempt to rein in an
> unnecessary number of anchors.
>
> This morning may have been a slightly different format due to a) all of
> the 'welcome Billy' nonsense - including Regis, for some reason and b) the
> introduction of the new Today Show puppy (an as-yet-unnamed black lab who's
> being trained as a service dog for wounded veterans), so there was no news
> segment at the bottom of the hour. Roker's weather updates were also in
> different spots on this morning's show - not yet clear if that's a new
> format or, again, just a abnormality. But it seemed pretty clear that Bush
> is *not* the new newsreader.
>
>
> Regis' appearance is the obvious swing at, of course, K. Ripa. This May
17th Variety piece, which touted Bush's new position
<http://variety.com/2016/tv/news/billy-bush-today-nbc-1201776758/> (link),
had exec producer Noah Oppenheimer describing 9-10 as “a compelling and
competitive hour focused on lifestyle and entertainment."

Kevin, to PGage:
>
> I found myself in a laundromat on Friday morning that had multiple TVs,
> each tuned to a different morning show.
>
> It made me sad to be an American.

> Especially when you can hear all of them. Still, the manager of the 'mat',
if he or she needs to follow all of them, has a perfect job.

NotTV, unless you count regional cable: The RailRiders clinched the season
series from the IronPigs, presumably forcing the Pigs' president/GM Kurt
Landes to have to appear at a game next season (ObOlympics) dressed in a
replica US women's gymnastics team leotard. Pigs are still alive in the
playoff chase, bar'ly.
