Connie did CBS News for two years, which is definitely more than a few months.
If MG bombs in the day slot, I would imagine they would either move her up to morning at Tiday, or down to Evening News. Apparently the daytime slot is an accommodation to MG's desire to spend more time with her kids; both sides may be imagining this as a holding pattern until each is ready for the anchor chair in morning or evening.
