Great news if you can't work a VPN and want to watch UK soaps like
Eastenders, Emmerdale or Holby City.
Not so great news if you want to watch Downton Abbey, Sherlock or Top
Gear. They're not there.
Some of the back catalogue stuff is better, but of course the best UK
stuff is mostly already filtering through to PBS, Netflix and Amazon.
I read the back catalogue available to browse. I have Acorn
and it doesn't look like any overlap. If Britbox is added for
Roku I might think about it. As a history buff I like some of the
lesser known documentaries that I have seen on Acorn.
The local PBS station here recently dropped
Keeping up Appearances and As Time
Goes By after years and years. I thought it might be because they
were now exclusive to Britbox but the replacements were
Vicar of Dibley and To the Manor Born which I saw on the
Britbox list.
I'd be interested to see if they add or rotate in more seasons of the really
long running shows (Coast and Casualty are ones I noticed)
