I was impressed with how SNL went after Trump last night, which could have
presented a bit of a challenge just after the Syrian Bombings. In addition
to some more obvious jokes, they had their Faux Trump say, in an address to
Red State Trumpsters depicted in a surprisingly (for SNL) non-condescending
and fairly sympathetic way, who were asking about better jobs, that he was
committed to making sure they and thier children and grandchildren could
always work in the coal mines. When they guy begins to point out that he
just wants good paying jobs, not necessarily in the coal mines (no doubt he
would have gone on to explain that working in the mines is hard and
dangerous), Trump interrupts them with a line that really captures so much
about him:

"In Trump's America, men work in two places: Coal mines and Goldman Sachs."

That is s level or two above "Trump has funny hair" or "Trump is a
blowhard" or "Trump said pussy" jokes. I would like to know who to credit
for it.

I also enjoyed again Louis CK. I don't think he mentioned his Netflix
special, but I assume that is what his SNL hosting was meant to promote. I
have not seen it yet - does anyone know if his mini-monologue last night
had material from the Special? I really liked it, though I kind of expected
him to button it up by ending with a reference to the animal joke theme he
started out with - that fact that he didnt made me think maybe he had taken
it from the Special.

He was very good in the sketches also, and I wasn't even annoyed by the
breaking he and McKinnon did in the last sketch.
