Yeah, one Doctor had passed away and was recast, and another only appears via recycled footage. Should make for good riffing.
It does cause me to note the running theory the new series of DW will conclude with the current Doctor encountering the first Doctor, who would be played by the same actor who played Hartnell in the BBC bio-pic a couple years ago. It'd be a good concept if true.
